Iain Watson

In 2013 Iain Watson was appointed Senior International Trophy Judge of CIC (International Council for Game and Wildlife Conservation). He is a senior member of the UK trophy evaluation board of the CIC and acts as expert to the UK CIC Delegation. 

He has worked for the Forestry Commission in Scotland and Scottish Natural Heritage and has been involved in deer evaluation and management since 1984. He is a crofter in the Outer Hebrides.

Qualifications and training

  • DMQ level 1 and 2
  • Trains and teaches trophy evaluation and formulae internationally and has trained judges from a number of European countries including: Sweden, Denmark, Norway,  Germany,  Hungary,  Ireland and the UK. 

Writing

Iain has contributed to a number of UK magazines and the revision of the formulae for the evaluation of game animals
